The Legacy of Barge 295
Welcome aboard Barge 295, Texas’ only floating bar and grill, moored on the waters of Clear Lake in Seabrook—America’s third-largest boating community. Born in 1967 as Brown & Root’s work barge BAR 295, this 80 ft vessel was reborn in the early 1980’s as the legendary Turtle Club.
Lance’s, the Turtle Club became a Texas landmark, famed for its card-carrying members who proudly declared when asked, “Are you a Turtle?” “You bet your sweet ass!” to claim their spot. From the early 1980’s to 2016, it was a global draw for boaters and locals, pulsing with life on the lake.

In 2017, new owners transformed the barge, launching Barge 295 just days before Hurricane Harvey struck. Undeterred, we opened, offering fresh Gulf seafood and live music from local and national artists. In July 2024, Hurricane Beryl sank Barge 295, but with the love and support of our loyal patrons, we rose again.
Our year-long rebuild unveiled a larger kitchen, enhanced layout, climate-controlled floors, and a new dock with unmatched boat parking. With stunning views, Barge 295 remains a cherished haven for all. Thank you for keeping our legacy afloat!
